Description
I found this magical place on a recent visit to Albuquerque, New Mexico, My husband and I were looking for a place to watch the sunset, but had absolutely no idea where to go. We found some trails on a map near our hotel and we took a drive.

The drive took us to the La Luz Trail at the base of the Sandia Mountains. The area was beautiful, but we still were not sure where to go that was high enough to see the sunset over the city. But then a few cars started heading up a side road and we decided to follow. When we reached the area there stood an abandoned rock building. I found out later the structure is the La Luz Trail Rock House Ruins. The moment I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for the sunset. Interestingly my favorite shot turned out to be from inside the structure, looking through the window.
I hope you see and enjoy the magic like I did.
